Delete This!

Last night, Jimmycart asked the question many of us have asked ourselves and the mods. No one has answered this question, so don't worry, I will do it for you.

Why is the Delete Photo function not working?

The answer is, because Eric Gurr's buddies were abusing it, and being too pussywhipped to say NO to them, he disconnected it. Instead of confronting the president-to-be and his minions, he chose to give all 2000 U4Prez candidates the middle finger, and screwed you all out of a basic bodily function.

Allow me to fill in the details.

A few weeks ago, at the end of June, U4Prez crashed for, how long was it, a day or two? It went down, and ever since then, the interactive aspects have been screwy. You will notice your text was askew, often forced into tight little columns. The pictures you dwith other U4Prez candidates, all the links were severed. And the Delete Photo function, that's gone.

As I was eludicating the other night in my consideration between just taking a break from U4Prez and leaving altogether, I asked whoever was behind the U4Prez mask for the night, hey, what's up with this? Not that this was the first time that question was uttered, I had asked at least twice before then, with no reply. I am sure I am not the only candidate who would like to remove a picture. A simple enough process, eh? Why hasn't what must be a simple function been repaired?

The moderator, who seemed to think it more important to play with the peasants instead of doing the job he is paid to do, told me on the comment board that it was removed because certain candidates were abusing it, removing a picture and immediately putting it right back on. By doing so, they were bogarting the side on the home page where the new pictures were presented to the board.

Now, let's stop there and catch up a little. Who out there do we see their names in that picture column the most? You might think I'm picking on him unfairly, but can anyone name me anyone else who had their puissant little mug on that list more than Kempite? How many times over the last month or so did we see the exact same "Profile Updated" sign Mduminiak put up there? Everytime these two took a crap in their beds, they took a picture of it, signed their names to it, and put it out there for U4Prez to deal with.

My opinion at the time, as it is now, is it's a non-issue. It is--errr, it WAS--part of the infrastructure of U4Prez. That's one thing I really liked about how U4Prez used to be, many of us pushed against the sides of the room to make it stretch. I realized the additional publicity you could get from doing it, and I too admit to putting up flashy pictures in order to generate publicity for me and the Independents. Having a bright picture there meant exposure you might not get if you weren't in the top three. It was part of the website, I really don't blame anyone for trying to make use of it.

Then again, I wasn't so selfish to just delete and re-post the same freaking pictures over and over and over again like Kempite and MDuminiak did. Like a couple of spoiled brats on Christmas, they hogged the new toy, pushed others away from it, and played with it until it broke, and screw anyone else who wanted to play with it.

Instead of telling these two self-indulgent pugs to lighten up on the Delete Photo button, the powers that be, which is Eric Gurr and his lazyass moderators, declined to stand up to them. I mean, why tell Kempite to do anything? He's the golden boy.

When Kempite tells me, "Does the hooker have her legs open all over U4Prez again," where is Eric to step in and tell Kempite he was out of line? There is a thick stack of sexually harassing comments we have saved over at the U4Prez Women's Society, and if you read them, they all were uttered either by Kempite or his fratbuddies over there on the Hard Right. Eric has never said a word to any of them to knock off the sexual harassment.

Lest we forget, sexual harassment is evidence of criminal intent and even psychosis. It diminishes she who is made to feel embarassed, humiliated, and awkward. Several female candidates confided in the Society, and I will not betray that trust, except to say it's always the same brutes, over and over again, and with rare exception, they are part of Kempite's inner circle, if not Kempite himself.

Eric has access to all comment boards. He even thought it would be cute if Kempite and I went toe-to-toe in a run-off. Whether I truly won it or not, I seriously doubt, because pretty much every election on U4Prez is suspect at this point. If it is a true result, it spoke boldly that Kempite' misogynistic, bullying, and sexually harassing tactics were loathed by the U4Prez population.

As well they should be.

Eric had access to all this, and not once did he lift a finger to put a stop to it. Female candidates came up to me from time to time, wanting to quit because they were being browbeated by sexually harassing comments. I always talked them into staying, hoping we could come up with a way to put a stop to it.

Down the road, I might name names. For now, let's just stay on task.

Eric said nothing to Kempite, when he knew he made arguable the lewdest comment in U4Prez history. Hell, I put it on the Grinch video. Everyone knows this is Kempite. Everyone knows he is a bully who will say the meanest thing he can think of, for pretty lame reasons. Why Eric is betting the U4Prez farm on this sexual deviant is beyond me. If Eric wants to turn the other way when his President-to-be is kicking women in the vagina, as Mduminiak likes to say, it's a private site, Eric can do what he wants, including letting his handpicked winner say the cruelest things he wants to, especially to women, without batting an eye.

If Eric isn't going to say NO to Kempite about something as serious as sexual harassment, do you honestly think he is going to tell him NO to quit humping the Delete Photo button? Two thousand candidates cannot remove their pictures because Eric can't say NO to Kempite.

So here's what you have to do now. You have to ask the mods to do it for you. Fathom that one. The mods don't ever answer anyone. It may take days for them to get around to it. You have to ask the mods, pretty please, I know I am just a candidate and not Kempite or of his ilk, but could you please remove this one little picture for me? What used to take a fraction of a second now takes a week.

You can thank Kempite and Mduminiak for that one. A browbeating misogynist and a goon. Way to go, Eric, you did it again!

So, Jimmycart, I hope I answered the question for you. No one else had the answer, so I am happy to provide it for you. The reason you can't delete a picture is because Eric is too pussywhipped over Kempite to say no to him and his, and as a result you now get to wait until a mod feels like getting off his lazy ass and doing his job. That might take a few days, a week, it's entirely up to him, whenever he's up to it. Until then, Jimmycart, you are shit out of luck.
