Raison d'Etre

There have been many moments of high drama at U4Prez, and in the five months since I started my own campaign, I've seen the simulation grow from a couple hundred to several thousand candidates, from a general political message board to a creative microcosm, where we can not only state where we stand on any given issue, but also promote ourselves, campaign for ourselves, create our own platforms and agendas, in any form we with to take. I am astomished with the level of creativity many have shown, and I truly hope I have added to that legacy, through debates, or videos, or other controversies I've seen and been part of.

The hope of this blog is not only to attempt to document the shenanigans taking place at U4Prez, it is also an attempt to influence it, to promote it, and to present it through my own eyes. I hope some will see this and will want to be a part of U4Prez and run their own campaigns. Others will see this and undoubtably leave their opinions, good or bad. Regardless, I hope to present the U4Prez world as a vibrant community, filled with thoughtful candidates and characters, all with their own agendas to set forth, all bumping heads with one another, and all seeking the Presidency through their own efforts, however those efforts might bear fruit.

Anyone who has been to U4Prez knows the discussion is done in comment form. Most of the time, discussing previous conversations is a chore to try to find, considering howevery candidate and issue has a comment page, and it's a matter of researching those comment pages to paste together a running conversation. One hope of this blog is to present some of those arguments in a much more linear, readable forum. Realize, of course, this is my own point of view, and I certainly encourage other candidates to record their U4Prez experiences for themselves, either through blogs like this or at U4Prez itself.

In considering a blog as opposed to recording this at U4Prez itself, for one, the set-up at U4Prez is not conducive to easily maintaining a blog. For another, moderators do keep a close eye on language, hence, to keep my mouth from getting me into even further trouble as I whip myself into another rant, it becomes prudent to post here. One more, this becomes MY turf, something the U4Prez world has to come to, if they wish to engage me and the things I post. I don't have to worry about who is blocking me, who is erasing my comments. And, for those more nettlesome users who think browbeating and annoyance are ways to seek information, they can come here and know exactly where I stand concerning a certain event.

Between my blog here, my U4Prez profile, and my MySpace page, you should get a fairly good clue as to what I am about, where I stand on certain issues, and what I think and believe.

Trust me, this will NOT be a boring blog.

Love Always, Olivia. XXX
